Old… new best friend

It was so clearly stated back in October 2012 that pearls would be our new best friend. The whole accessories collection was all about reinventing pearls, bigger, chunkier, and for sure a statement piece in our wardrobe.
It is just so nice to see all this high fashion translated to everyday style, and when spring and summer comes you see all these girls down the street,  wearing their refreshed styled pearls on their way to work. I have to share this with you but it is a small joy of mine when I see all this high fashion serving everyone’s personal style! I love to see how people wear it and understand it.

And if you are looking on the type of pearls that you should be wearing this season here are a few tips if money is not an issue..

Fashionable Skulls – Can it really be?

They have been around us for almost a year. They come in different colours, sizes, and they can work really well as an accessory and I actually own a few. All the talk is about skulls! They don’t have to be scary and they can be a lot of fun and certainly a nice way to be a bit more rock and roll but keeping in the class.

And who is really behind all this mad skull trend? It could be none other than the house of Alexander McQueen. His latest collections of scarfs, accessories and jewelery has celebrated the skull in such a way that it turned to be a must-have even for a very classic look.

You can quench all your fashion thirst for this trend, there are so many piece to chose form, clothing, clutches, jewelry, all there to satisfy your needs.

Skulls

{Even the most classic of you would easily where some of these pieces including the famous skull bracelet by Alexander McQueen}

As a great trend follower and an aspirational fashionista my skull collection has started to grow by the day, and I have a piece for every occasion!

Blue Inspiration

After seeing these outfits presented in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia S/S 13 – 14, it seemed that the majority of Australian designers were focusing on metallic colours and striking blues.

Having all this in mind my next purchase was already decided adding to my ever growing make up collection a bit of this blue glamour. A cheap and cheerful No7 Eyeliner by Boots did the trick and it carries the name of Sky Highs! Inspirational indeed!

Using a natural colour eye shadow as the base just follow the natural line of your eye and extend ever so slightly just to make your look a bit more dramatic. Finish up with a blue mascara and light colour lipstick.

For this look I felt that my Anna Dello Russo earings from her latest collaboration with H&M had to be taken out of their fancy box and on my little ears! These must be my ultimate summer night out accessories.

A very easy look to pool and especially my favourite for this summer.

Would love to know if you will be incorporating blue in your make up routine for this summer. Feel free to send me your comments either on this space or on facebook or twitter page. I am always on them.

And don’t forget if you liked this post then leave some love (like/share). It is much appreciated!

DIY – Brooch

How to make a nice brooch out of materials that you can find in your house.

We all have so many stuff in our drawers that we don’t probably use, just think before you are about to throw them away. How could you use them differently, be creative and you never know what may come out of it.

Here you can see how I transformed a an old purse to lovely brooch with the help of a beaded necklace I was not wearing.

Last sew a safety pin on the back and your DIY brooch is ready to wear. I accessorized an old coat of mine, giving it a new look.

I would love to know if you managed to create something out of forgotten and unwanted things that you found in your drawers. Share with me the results.
